We would like to dedicate this entire CD to Ernie
Thacker , who is recovering from series injuries due to a motor vehicle
accident in April 2006, and in memory of Wes Davis , brother of Chris
Davis, who was also a well known bluegrass musician who performed with Chris and
their father Danny, the Bluegrass Strangers, Ralph Stanley II, and others. Wes
passed away in March 2006.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you both !!!!

May 2006 Review --- Vern Gosdin and Mike Parsons
I can't tell you how many demos of CD's that I get from all over the country each year. So when my good friend Mike Parsons wanted me to listen to a new CD by some of his friends in West Virginia, "Step Into The Blue", I was hoping that it was not just another demo tape that would take up space on a shelf. The first cut he played me was "Helen", a song that my Uncle Revin "Rebe" wrote years ago and it brought back some great memories. I realized that this CD would not take up space on a shelf or in a box, this CD was going in my CD player. The cut on "Helen" was just great, and I very much enjoyed the entire CD. Bluegrass was my first love, so boys ... keep up that great sound.
Vern Gosdin
I love to perform and write what I call real traditional, hard core, country music, and being able to open shows for Vern Gosdin all over the country is something very special for me. But bluegrass has always been what I really want to do. When Vern Gosdin and I go down the road on the bus we always have our bluegrass CD's close by. When I received my copy of "Step Into The Blue" including Rebe Gosdin's "Helen", I was blown away. What a sound, and what a group. Keep it hard core, and keep it bluegrass.
Mike Parsons
March 2006 Review --- Phil Leadbetter
I have had several
opportunities to enjoy the music of Step Into The Blue, as they have shared the
same bill with my group Wildfire. This new CD will help to get the rest of
the world familiar with what great pickers and singers that they
are! This project has a super selection of tunes with just the right blend
to keep you wanting more. This is just a sample of great things to come from
this great new band !!

Over the past few months, an "All-Star" lineup of some of West Virginia and Kentucky's best musicians and vocalists, joined by special guests, have been in the studio to record what could be this year's most exciting project in Bluegrass music. The project evolved from a group of talented friends in several different bands who routinely get together during down time, to jam or make special show appearances as a band. Those friends; Tommy Drake, Chris Stockwell, Tim Corbett, Kelly Davis, have tried to showcase their talent in song writing, arrangement, musical support, vocal ability, and diverse styles, in songs performed by several of the top vocalists in Bluegrass music. The title cut of the CD is an original song entitled Step Into The Blue , which was written by Tim Corbett with vocals added by Randy Kohrs. The project also includes original material written by Bill Castle, Kelly Davis, Mark Brinkman and Mike Evans .
